Fantastic experience with JF Builders renovating my 1940s home in historic downtown Apex. Professional and organized, knowledgeable and friendly. Their app, Buildertrend is easy to use and photos, calendar, progress notes, change orders and invoices are all right there and updated regularly throughout the project. We recently completed a major project with JF Builders: a large two-story addition combined with a full renovation of our existing home that effectively tripled the size of our home. It was a long and highly customized undertaking with countless moving parts. While there were naturally challenges along the way, what mattered most was ultimately how they were handled. Throughout the entire process, we always felt heard, respected, and supported.

One of the things we appreciated most was their communication. Whether we had a question, needed clarification, or wanted to discuss an idea, we never waited long for a response. Most of the time we heard back within hours, and often within minutes. During a project of this size and length, that level of responsiveness was not only impressive, but provided tremendous peace of mind.

We also appreciated the construction management app they used. It made it easy to track selections, approvals, schedules, change orders, documents, and progress throughout the project. Having everything organized and accessible in one place helped us feel informed and involved every step of the way.

Our project included numerous custom features and requests, including incorporating a stained-glass transom window, creating a custom drop zone, designing a kitchen built-in inspired by an antique piece we discovered while traveling, installing a Dutch door, and even adding a dumbwaiter. We also made changes during construction, including converting a closet into a guest sleeping area and redesigning a screened porch into a sunroom. Every request and revision was handled with professionalism, creativity, and attention to detail.

What impressed us was that they never treated our ideas or changes as inconveniences. Instead, they worked patiently and collaboratively with us to find solutions and bring our vision to life. They were flexible, knowledgeable, and committed to getting the details right.

The craftsmanship throughout the home is exceptional, but what we appreciate most is how personal the process felt. They took the time to understand not just what we wanted our home to look like, but how we wanted it to function and feel. And by helping us preserve pieces of our original home and thoughtfully incorporating salvaged doors and other architectural elements into the new design, created a home that feels both fresh and deeply connected to our family.

A warranty was included with the build and the few minor issues that came up after we moved back in were handled efficiently and with the same attention as the original project.

A project of this scale requires trust, communication, organization, and craftsmanship. JF Builders delivered on all. We selected Jeff Fike to build our new custom home. We had an initial design and Jeff grasped what we were trying to accomplish. He finished the 3D design and we were able to incorporate virtual reality to walk through the plan prior to build, which helped us finalize key design decisions.

Jeff was personally on site almost every day through the foundation and framing stages and quite frequently from framing through finishing stages. One or more people from his team were on site every day with the contractors to ensure our goals were being addressed and a high quality of construction was incorporated. The team was great to work with. Jeff truly cared about the quality of build and he would gently push us to make sure we did not make choices that would compromise the final product.

In addition to understanding and building our vision, Jeff added some great touches to our plan that really made the home special. His team and the subcontractors really focused on some fine details as well, often going above and beyond our expectations.

The process moved very quickly. We had a goal to be in our home by the holidays and Jeff made it happen. We went from breaking ground to move-in in about 6 months. We stayed very close to budget with just a few areas exceeding cost expectations due to tariffs and other factors beyond the control of Jeff.

In 2024, JF Builders changed my life!  Jeff Fike, Kevin Morgan and an excellent team built a beautiful first floor master bedroom and bath that has allowed my impaired husband the opportunity to age in place.  The room is spacious, sunny, comfortable, and high quality.  The professionalism and care that went into designing and building out this room was not a surprise to us. You will not find a better team than those at JF Builders.  My wife and I did not know what we were getting into by adding onto our home, but Jeff told us on day one that they would take good care of us along the way.  We can attest that this is 100% true.

Home renovation is stressful, but they did everything they could to minimize the chaos throughout.  Anything that came up was resolved quickly and efficiently.  JF Builders had our interests at heart, helping us ask the right questions always and being patient with us.

I have had the honor of knowing Jeff Fike and JF builders for more than 30 years.  I met him first when he built my personal home in Lochmere.  It was the best building experience I have ever had.

As a Realtor, I have sold a number of Jeff Fike homes through the years and have gotten to know Jeff personally.  I can tell you he is honest, caring, detail oriented…and does what he says he will do.

We have not only built/purchased our home from Jeff and his team, but are working on current home projects and planning future projects with this company... because it was such an awesome experience.  Jeff built us our perfect family home in downtown Apex- on time, custom to our unique tastes, within budget, craftmanship quality and it was an experience I would absolutely want to repeat!  JF Builders are also concept creators.  They helped us create lines and an aesthetic that we did not think would be possible in our area and time frame.
